what is the cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy requires at least 24 hours' notice for any appointment. If you cancel within 24 hours, a $50 deposit will be required for your next, which will be applied if you cancel or no-show. We understand that situations arise, and for our long-term clients, we offer some flexibility, allowing for a reschedule on the same day of cancellation. Thank you for understanding!
How Can I prepare for my first facial?
Preparing for your first facial is easy! Make sure not to use any actives beforehand, this includes: etinols/retinoids, AHA/BHA acids (glycolic, lactic, salicylic), acne treatments like benzoyl peroxide, and harsh exfoliating physical scrubs.
Sunburns are also a contraindication for facials if you're wanting exfoliation as part of the treatment.
how frequently should I get a facial?
We suggest booking a facial once a month for optimal results, as this aligns with our skin's natural cycles of shedding, collagen production, and healing.
We recognize that monthly visits may not be feasible for everyone, so if you're aiming to maintain consistency on a budget, scheduling a facial with the changing seasons will help your skin adapt and revitalize with the shifts in weather.
What facial is best for my skin type?
We offer a fantastic variety of facials tailored to your specific skin type and concerns.
First-time clients, those with ultra-sensitive skin, or anyone wanting to try us out, we suggest the New Client Promo Facial.
If you’re dealing with breakouts and want to accelerate healing, the Decongestion Facial is perfect for you.
Concerned about sagging and puffiness? The Microcurrent Facial will rejuvenate your appearance.
Have an upcoming event and want a radiant glow with smooth makeup application? The Dermaplane Facial is ideal for you!
Struggling with dry or dehydrated skin that looks lackluster? The Ultra Hydration Facial is your go-to solution.
What Facial is best for acne and/or acne scars?
For active acne, consider the Decongestion Facial, which includes additional extraction time and a device that speeds up healing (a client favorite for its effectiveness!).
To address acne scarring, the Vitamin A Peel is ideal as it promotes collagen production and helps to even out skin tone, all while delivering the antioxidant benefits of Vitamin A, in a peel form.
Can I get a Facial before an event?
Absolutely! You can get a facial before an event but we recommend coming in at least a week beforehand - especially if you don't get treatments done frequently.
If this is your first facial ever, coming in 1-2 weeks beforehand is recommended
does a facial hurt? will I be red after?
At Skin By Rachel Amar, we take pride in our gentle approach to skincare. Rachel adopts a compassionate method, regularly checking in on how your skin looks and feels throughout the treatment.
Depending on the procedure, you may experience a rosy glow in your cheeks.
can I get a facial while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Yes, you can absolutely get a facial while pregnant, and it is a great way to manage skin changes like acne or sensitivity.
Opt for gentle, hydrating, and pregnancy-safe treatments, avoiding high-dose salicylic acid, retinoids, and deep chemical peels. The Hydrodermabrasion Facial is a great option for either pregnancy or breast feeding moms.
when will I see results from a facial?
You will likely see immediate, initial results from a facial, such as a brighter, more hydrated, and glowing complexion
within 0–2 days, as your skin settles, inflammation reduces, and circulation increases. For long-term benefits like reduced acne, increased collagen, and deeper skin texture improvements, you should look for results within 4–6 weeks as the skin completes a full regeneration cycle.
